Project Description

Breathing volume estimation is crucial for respiratory health monitoring. Traditional spirometry requires bulky equipment and user cooperation. WiSpiro introduces a contactless approach using wireless signals to estimate breathing volume.

The system leverages WiFi signal variations caused by chest movements during breathing to accurately estimate tidal volume and other respiratory metrics. This enables continuous, unobtrusive monitoring for patients with respiratory conditions.

WiSpiro demonstrates that commercially available WiFi devices can be repurposed for healthcare applications, making respiratory monitoring more accessible and convenient.
